Abstract

AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) is the primary device for a generator stability, therefore performance of an AVR must be considered. Implementation of controller can be used to improve performance of an AVR. Now the controller is widely applied in industry, namely PID and fuzzy. Modelling carried out to determine the performance of AVR. The modelling of AVR system and its controller are built using Matlab Simulink. PID controller is designed by tuning method of Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) and Tyreus-Luyben (TL) while fuzzy controller is built by two input variables and one output variable, each consists of 7 MF so can be obtained 49 fuzzy rules. Based on transient response analysis, PID controller with TL method is better than ZN method and overall the comparison results of controller demonstrated that the PID controller provides a better performance in three parameters (rise time, peak time, and settling time), while the fuzzy controller provides a better performance in overshoot parameter.

Abstract

Most of physics students hold classical physics perspective when they learn quantum physics. Modeling instruction is implemented to identify mental models changing in learning quantum conceptual models. Mental model is an image created in the mind of a natural phenomenon. The conceptual model is a description of natural phenomena in appropriate with the scientists perspective. Qualitative analysis used in this research is grounded theory. The results of identification student model mental is categorized as quantum, intermediate and clasical mechanics. Students have experienced changing of dimensional understanding area from classical mechanics into a quantum perpective. The accuracy of mental model identification can be improved by making the interpretation image repeatedly.

Abstract

The distribution of magnetic anomalies in Sambas Sea has been investigated using the Magnetic method. The raw data, which acquired, have been corrected using IGRF data and tie-line leveling to obtain the local magnetic field distribution. Then, from the corrected data obtained four anomalous zones. Next, a slice that lying on the anomalous zones (line AB, CD, EF, and GH) was made to obtain the subsurface structures which obtain using inversion method. The results show that the presence of magnetic anomalies at the lines AB, EF and GH (with susceptibility values between 1.2 to 19.2) due to the magnetite rock at the subsurface. Moreover, The presence of magnetic anomalies at the line CD (with susceptibility values of 0.3 to 3.5) is caused by ilmenite rock. The correlation coefficients between the observation data and calculated data for all lines are between 0.98 to 0.99.

Abstract

Representasi dalam memecahkan masalah memberikan informasi cara siswa memahami konsep. Siswa memiliki pola beragam untuk memecahkan masalah yang berkaitan dengan konsep Fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi: kecenderungan representasi siswa, pola pemecahan masalah berdasarkan kecenderungan representasi, pola pemecahan masalah dalam membangun pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif model grounded theory . Siswa dikategorikan pemahamannya ke dalam kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa kategori tinggi memiliki kecenderungan representasi simbolik, kategori sedang dan rendah memiliki kecenderungan representasi visual gambar. Siswa kecenderungan representasi simbolik memiliki pola yaitu membaca, menganalisis, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan, menyimpulkan. Siswa kecenderungan visual gambar memiliki dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis, melaksanakan dan menyimpulkan, pola kedua sama dengan pola pertama namun proses menganalisis menggunakan konsep. Berdasarkan pemahaman konsepnya, siswa kategori tinggi menggunakan dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis, membuat solusi, menyimpulkan. Pola kedua yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis menggunakan konsep, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan solusi, menyimpulkan. Siswa kategori sedang menggunakan dua pola. Pola pertama yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan. Pola kedua yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis menggunakan konsep, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan solusi dan menyimpulkan. Siswa kategori rendah memiliki pola yaitu membaca, memahami masalah, menganalisis dan menyimpulkan.Representation in solving the problem gives information on how students understand concepts. Students have a variety of patterns to solve the problems associated with the concept of physics. This study aims to identify: the tendency of student representation, based on the likelihood of resolving problems of representation, pattern of problem solving in building understanding of the concept. This research is a qualitative model of grounded theory. Students are categorized understanding into the category of high, medium and low. The results showed high class students have a tendency symbolic representation, medium and low categories have the tendency visual representation of the image. Students tendency symbolic representation has a pattern of reading, analyzing, planning solutions, implement, conclude. Students tendency visual image has two patterns. The first pattern is read, to understand the problem, analyze, implement and conclude, the second pattern similar to the pattern, but the process of analyzing the first to use the concept. Based on the understanding of the concept, students high category use two patterns. The first pattern is read, to understand the problem, analyze, create solutions, concludes. The second pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze the use of the concept, planning solutions, implementing solutions, concludes. Students category're using two patterns. The first pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze and conclude. The second pattern is read, understood the problem, analyze the use of the concept, planning solutions, implement solutions and concluded. Students low category has a pattern of reading, understanding the problem, analyze and conclude.

Abstract

Modification of conventional radiography systems into a digital radiography system was conducted at the Laboratory of Physics Unnes. The image quality of digital radiography system that was developed in the Laboratory of Medical Physics Unnes need to be tested. The computed radiography (CR) system owned by Diponegoro National Hospital was chosen as a comparison with contrass to noise ratio (CNR) methode. Radiograph image generated by both radiography system then analyzed by software based on MATLAB. This study uses a copper plate phantom exposed to X-rays with a variation of anode-cathode voltage of 50 kV, 60 kV, 70 kV and 80 kV. For each voltage to vary the electrical current and expotion time of 1.6 mAs, 2.0 mAs, mAs 4.0, 8 mAs, 16 mAs and 32 mAs. Comparison of CNR for both systems to variations of tube voltage (kV) have a fixed value for the current and expotion time 4 mAs. Comparison of CNR for both systems to variations in current and ekspotion time (mAs) selected tube voltage 70kV.

Abstract

The development of technology needed humans that qualified and high in order thinking. Hyphotetical deductive thinking is one of high order thinking. It is appeared on students of senior high school in Tambakboyo by their scientific research. Result of observation physics teachers RPP still used to talkative methode. Understanding abstract concepts need laboratory activity to formed thinking student. This study aims to know correlation between hyphotetical deductive thinking and concepts understanding, profile of thinking and concept understanding. The subjects was selected using saturated sampling. Design of study using sequential explanatory. There is positive correlation between hyphotetical deductive thinking and concept understanding. Correlation category on XI IPA is medium and strong. Correlation both of them was influenced by another factors like the difficulty of students and trouble in lack of time when do hyphotetical deductive test and direct current resistive electrical circuits test is easy because this subject was learned in X class. Profiles thinking in XI IPA is dominant on transition and hyphotetical deductive thinking. Profiles of concepts understanding by XI IPA on good and good enough category.

Abstract

A study about temperature and salinity condition in western Sumatra Sea by using Argo Float data (92o BT s.d 101 oBT dan 2o LU s.d 2o LS) has been done. This study aims to analyze the conditions of temperature and salinity, and determine the relationship of temperature and salinity in the incidence of DM (Dipole Mode). The data used is the data of temperature and salinity in the year 2004 to up 2014 the data processing Argo Float using software Ocean Data View (ODV) data in the form of Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD), resulting in the spatial distribution of temperature and salinity, the temporal distribution of temperature and salinity, profile temperature and salinity with depth, as well as the TS diagram is then performed using the correlation equation between temperature and salinity with DMI. The results of data analysis showed that the spatial distribution of the temperature of the surface layer that is 27.5 0C to 30 0C, while the salinity is 33.5 psu to 35 psu. Spatial temperature distribution in the inner layer is 2.5 0C to 12.5 C, while the salinity is 33.5 psu to 35 psu. The temperature profile of the depth is 2.5 0C to 31 C, while the salinity is 33.25 psu to 35.5 psu. The correlation between the temperatures and the DMI shows an inverse relationship which the correlation coefecient is -0.72.

Abstract

In teaching and learning process, teachers found the difficulty to transfer of understanding the material about the current electricity and difference potential to the learners. The understanding of this material classified into difficult materials because its characteristic was abstract. This research was a qualitative reasearch that aims to show the student of physics education competence in explaining the physics concept used analogy in learning of physics. The subject of this reserach was the student of physics education of sixth semester students of Physics Education Program who are taking the course of Physics School II. The techniques of data collection used in the form of written-test, interview, and documentation. The result of the reserach showed that the student of Physics Education Program students in explaning the physics concept using analogy belonged to average category. They used their experience in explaining the abstract physics concept in dinamic electricity material that used analogy, could describe the potential of misconceptions toward the understanding of concept that would be accepted by the learners and could explain the difference of analogy used based on the characteristic of analogy which is not appropriate with the concept. The analogy reasoning pattern that used by the student of physics education in explaining physics concept used analogy was more dominant than that of inductive reasoning pattern. The dificulty factors of student of physics education in explaining the physics concept used analogy were existing at; 1) seeking of the right analogy, 2) connecting the analogy with the concept of dinamic electricity, 3) explaining the appropriate analogy with the concept. The student of physics education difficulties factors may be caused by their less conceptual understanding about physics concept in dinamic electricity. The solution to overcome this problem is candidat teacher needs to improve their understanding about concept of dynamic electricity to simplify acquiring the appropriate analogy and connect the concept of physics material which taught by using the anlogy.

Abstract

An experiment has been done on the development objects Archimedes law to increase the understanding of the concept. Archimedes law objects are as instructional media to explain the elusive concept of learners, especially on the concept of objects floating, sinking and floating. This is shown by the result of studentslearning to the concept of Archimedes law in SMP N 2 Batang in 2011/2012 class VIII, has not reached 85% of the limit value of 70 completed. The condition is possible because one of the reasons is that during this learning method is used less effective resulting for low student in understanding of concepts, so need a solution to improve learners' understanding of the concept of the law of Archimedes. Archimedes law objects that have been developed to influent the change patterns of thinking, so as to improve the understanding of the concept of learners. Archimedes law objects developed as a modification to the standard objects in variety of liquid and the test objects.

Quantum model of stock price dinamics has been proposed obtained. The solution based on this model is obtained by using path integral representation.
